The tunic-like garment, with stitched sides, is similar
to what Jesus would have worn when he was baptized in
the Jordan River not far from his birthplace. Even today
kaftans are regularly seen in the Holy Land. It is
fitting that such a garment be used to clothe the new
Christian in Christ. |
